Three new Asus tablets will be on sale at Currys and PC World as soon as next month. According to a report on the Inquirer, the Windows 7 powered Eee Slate EP121 is due to go on sale, as well as a pair of Android tablets, the Eee Pad Transformer and Slider.
The EP121 has a 12 inch display and an Intel Core i5 processor, with a fixed keyboard to give it a laptop kind of a look. Asus says its “designed for customers who need a highly transferable gadget that can also operate standard office software as multitasking with other applications.”
The Android model has a 10 inch slates which come with a keyboard, the Transformer have a removable one, and the Slider, of course a sliding keyboard. Both of these are powered by the Tegra 2 chipset, and come with twin cameras on board. The models will be released in April with a Wi-Fi only.
Asus has announced that Android tablets will be operating Honeycomb, though this was the company’s verdict after CES, and it then apologize for that statement saying they would firstly ship with Gingerbread. We whether Honeycomb will be set to come in time by next month.
